Hi there, it’s Lisa and Natalie, the owners of Speech Therapy Solutions.
We are writing today to share our thoughts and plans surrounding COVID-19. We are trying to, as individually as possible, email all of our patients while abiding by our HIPPA Privacy Act. Please know we are trying to reach everyone in the coming days.
First and foremost, the safety of our families, therapists, staff is our number one priority. So far, our team has spent time preparing, researching and trying making as concrete of a plan as possible.
Here’s what we’re doing to ensure everyone’s safety:
- We’re adding flexibility to our 24-hour cancellation policy.
If you feel any symptoms that overlap with COVID-19 or if you’ve
traveled to a high-risk area recently, please stay home and we’ll
reschedule your session.
- Time in between sessions will be extended in order for the therapists to sanitize themselves, their therapy room and their materials.
We’re increasing sanitization & good habits. We have spent time in each clinic using Lysol, Clorox and other chemicals to keep our space clean for our families. We’ve also equipped our team with an extensive amount of Lysol wipes and spray to help in between sessions and we are of course encouraging frequent handwashing. If you come to the clinic, please help your child wash their hands before and after sessions.
- Please limit the amount of people you bring to sessions. One adult per child please. You are welcome to wait in your car or outdoors if the weather permits.
a grandparent typically accompanies you to sessions, please advise
anyone 60 years or older to stay home and stay safe and healthy.
- If your therapist comes to your home, it will be our recommendation that she will not bring in any toys for
the next few weeks to reduce the risk of increased likelihood to spread
germs. If she doesnt already, please show your SLP to the nearest sink
where you can provider her with soap and water to wash her hands upon
entering your home and post session.
As a team, we’re not 100% sure what the next few weeks or months will look like. I’d like to believe that we’ll be able to continue sessions and keep everyone safe, but we are following this outbreak closely and want to what is best for everyone. Many of our therapists have openings on Fridays for rescheduled appointments so we will hopefully be able to offer make ups to any missed sessions over the next few weeks over some Fridays in the coming months. Please dont hesitate to reach out to your SLP if you would like some home recommendations as well. But as of today, we are still open and taking every precaution to keep everyone safe and healthy!
